The results of our 997S exhaust development program surpassed even our expectations. Uncorking 3.8l of displacement through the use of less restrictive mufflers, high flow German HJS 200 cell cat sections, and tubular merge collector headers netted us a major power improvement across almost the entire powerband. Depending on vehicle we have seen a range of +28 to 39 crank horsepower and +28 to 31 crank torque improvement.
On the 3.6l 997 we have recorded gains of 11-12 crank hp and 10-11 crank tq with use of our full system. The stock 997 uses OEM tips that are too small to produce these gains, so our AWE Tuning stainless steel logo tips are required to reach advertised power as well as to ensure proper fient.
Along with this incredible bump in power came a voice to die for. At full throttle with your eyes closed, you'll swear that you're hearing the sound of a GT class ALMS Porsche barreling down the start/finish straight of Daytona International Raceway. Yet, equally important as an exciting full throttle exhaust note is this system's ability to behave at idle and part throttle. No droning whatsoever at any cruising speed with any of the AWE Tuning system components, ensuring a long love affair with no caveats.
Our system is also modular, meaning that any one of the three components can be installed along with the stock components. For example, if a sweeter sound is your primary desire, you can install just our mufflers. Or if you are looking for maximum performance, replace your mufflers, cat sections, and headers with our versions. See the dyno sheets for the gains found with each stage of tune. Our angle cut and beveled edge logo tips are 100% 304 stainless steel featuring double wall construction for resistance to heat discoloration. They are available in a polished silver or diamond black finish. Diamond black is deep and lustrous for a sophisticated stealth look.
As with all AWE Tuning exhaust products, each TIG weld is hand finished internally, only butt-welded junctions are used, and flange openings are size matched to their ports, all to produce the smoothest flow possible.
